Authenticator App for MFA

September 20, 2024

Authenticator Support for MFA

We’ve added support for third-party authenticators, including Authy, Microsoft Authenticator, and Google Authenticator. This upgrade allows users who cannot (or do not wish to) receive MFA one-time codes via SMS or email to use their preferred authenticator installed on their mobile device instead.

  • Using an approved authenticator app as your means to receive an MFA code is optional, but encouraged.
  • International users can use an authenticator instead of relying on receiving an SMS to international numbers, which may be blocked or suffer delivery issues.
  • Authenticator apps provide robust security and allow users to securely log in to Avochato if your device has no access to cellular reception.

Setup

For users that have already enabled enforcing multi-factor authentication, you can configure Authenticator under your profile by clicking “Security” > “Setup Authenticator App”.

When enabled, you’ll be prompted to setup their authenticator with three simple steps.

Lastly, we’ve cleaned up some cosmetic issues with the MFA input field when signing in on certain device types.

Bug Fixes

Inbox

  • Fixed an issue with the “Analytics” introduction popup constantly appearing during onboarding.

Unaddressed Badges

  • “Inbox-Zero” users rejoice: we’ve fixed some cases where an unaddressed conversation would get marked as addressed but would still show up as a red badge in your inbox.

AgentAssist

  • Fixed some issues preventing generating auto-suggestions (and in some cases, AvoBot responses), especially using the latest ChatGPT-4o and ChatGPT-4o-mini models. Also fixed some issues with formatting the response when sending it to the contact (such as messages wrapped in curly brackets).
  • Fixed an issue with Quickchat + auto-suggestions to get “stuck” until you refreshed the page.
  • Fixed issues recovering from errors when using corrupted or blank prompts to generate responses.

Notifications

  • We’ve made it such that inbox notifications don’t appear for mass assignment (whether done via broadcast assignment, or wide-mode mass assignment). In other words, you will see inbox notifications for one-off manual assignment changes to new conversation owners, but not when done en masse. In a future release we will bundle mass notifications into 1 event to spare space in the notification dropdown.
